How Physiotherapy Can Help

Physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to treat pain, injury and stiffness, restore movement, and prevent problems from coming back. Our physiotherapists assess how your whole body is moving, pinpoint what is driving your symptoms, and build a treatment plan around your goals, whether that is getting back to sport, back to work, or simply back to a normal night’s sleep.

We regularly treat people across Rotherham for a wide range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain and other joint problems, foot and ankle pain, hand and elbow pain, headaches, sports injuries, arthritis and plantar fasciitis.

If your problem is not listed, please get in touch. There is a good chance we can still help, or point you in the right direction.

Our Physiotherapy Treatments

No two people are the same, so we tailor every treatment plan to you. Depending on your needs, your physiotherapist may use a combination of the following.

Manual therapy

Hands-on techniques including joint mobilisation and soft tissue work to reduce pain, ease stiffness and improve how you move.
A personalised home exercise programme to rebuild strength, mobility and confidence, so your recovery holds long after your appointments finish.
A proven treatment for stubborn tendon and soft tissue problems. You can read more on our shockwave therapy page.
Used to help manage pain and muscle tension alongside your physiotherapy. Find out more on our acupuncture page.
If you would benefit from a different approach, we can also draw on the wider team, including osteopathy, sports therapy and sports massage.

Physiotherapy FAQs

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a hands-on healthcare service that helps you recover from injury, manage pain and long-term conditions, and improve how your body moves. It combines manual treatment, exercise and expert advice to get to the root of the problem.
Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of problems, including back and neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries, arthritis, headaches and recovery after surgery. If you are unsure whether we can help, please get in touch and ask.
No. You can book directly with us without a GP referral. If you are using private health insurance, your insurer may require a referral, so please check with them first.
Comfortable, loose clothing is ideal, as it allows us to assess and treat the affected area easily. For example, shorts are helpful for knee or ankle problems.
This depends on your condition and goals. Some people feel better within a few sessions, while longer-standing or more complex problems may take longer. We will always be honest with you about what to expect.
